The Area
Located 10 kms. westward from the "city" of Lagos the popular tourist resort of
Praia da Luz has greatly expanded in recent years from the fishing village it
used to be and with the advent of the new motorway this unspoiled part of the
Algarve can be reached in less than an hour from Faro airport. Now, bustling
with activity during the summer Praia da Luz has many good restaurants and bars,
modern shops and supermarkets which stock a wide variety of imported food. There
is also a very efficient Medical Centre, where the doctors speak several
languages and a well stocked pharmacy . The
safe sandy beach stretches round the bay and has several beach bars which are
open all day and most of the night for continuing refreshment, plus there is a
wide selection of stalls selling "T" shirts, beach towels, jewellery and the
like. There are 2 water sports centres offering sailing, windsurfing and deep
sea diving.
The Villa is set within a walled garden, accessed
by security gates. It has a large private pool and terraced area, equipped with
sun loungers, table and chairs. There is a built in barbecue to the side of the
house for outside dining on warm summer evenings and cars can be securely parked
within the grounds.
The hall, living room, kitchen and one of the twin bedrooms, ( with en-suite
shower room), are all on the ground floor with two further bedrooms on the first
floor.
The living room is comfortably furnished with 3 sofas, dining table and 6 chairs
and has two sets of patio doors leading out onto the pool and terrace.
Entertainment has been amply provided for with a digital satellite television, (
free to air stations only), a DVD, stereo unit and a separate Play station and
TV.
The fully fitted kitchen is the last word in modern appliances, with gas hob,
electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, washer / dryer, fridge freezer, toaster
etc. and there is a whirligig clothes dryer on the back terrace.
The principal bedroom is on the first floor and the bed can be made up as a
double or two singles. It has an en-suite full bathroom with integral shower
over the bath and there are two sets of patio doors which lead out on to two
terraces, both of which have a sea view and are furnished with table and chairs.
The third bedroom, (with an en-suite shower room), is furnished with twin beds
and has patio doors leading to a small terrace. All three bedrooms have built in
wardrobes with masses of storage space.
Towels and linen are provided and maid service twice per
week is included in the rental price. There is also a linen change at the end of the
first week for fortnightly stays.
